Larry grew up in Colorado where he fell in love with God’s creation. Most of his summers were spent enjoying the Colorado Rockies, fishing, hiking, skiing, hunting, and biking. Experiencing the grandeur and intricacies of creation has had a profound impact upon his understanding of God’s power and love for all humanity.
Larry graduated from Northwest Nazarene University and served two years on the Colorado District before continuing his education at Nazarene Theological Seminary. After graduating with a master’s degree in both Christian Education and Divinity, he and his wife, Sharon, ministered for seven years in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Responding to a call to serve the Church of the Nazarene at the Nazarene Headquarters, Larry served as the editor of the young adult curriculum and campus ministries coordinator for Nazarene Youth International. After two years he was asked to join the Sunday School Ministries team and serve as the editor of Illustrated Bible Life and co-editor of Adult Faith Connections. Later he became the Director of Curriculum and the Adult Ministries Director. Larry currently serves as the USA/Canada Regional Coordinator for Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries.
Larry and Sharon are passionate about God, family, and discipleship. As parents of two boys their appreciation of their own parents’ wisdom and prayers has grown immensely. A favorite Bible passage continues to be Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
