"Collegiate Quartet representing Bethany Nazarene College
THE COLLEGIATE QUARTET has ofiicially represented Bethany Nazarene College since 1957, making over 250 appearances each year in churches, civic clubs, summer youth camps, church conferences and campus activities. They travel extensively throughout the year in the seven-state area of Nazarene churches that support Bethany Nazarene College.
Their travel and appearance arrangements are handled by Dr. Curtis Smith, Assistant to the President of the college. Professor Lester L. Dunn, Fine Arts Chairman, assists the quartet in voice technique and interpretation.
The students in the Collegiates for this 1963-64 school year are varied in background and in vocational plans. They are: FIRST TENOR: RAY COOK of Maysville, Kentucky, a senior majoring in biological science with plans to enter the medical profession. SECOND TENOR: HARDY WEATHERS of Cushing, Oklahoma, a sophomore majoring in music with plans for a career in teaching of music. BARITONE: WAYNE RICE of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a senior majoring in business administration. He has specialized in courses to prepare for hospital administration. BASS: JUSTIN RICE of Lawrence, Kansas, a senior majoring in religion for a career in Christian education.
Their accompanist, Linda Fitts, is a junior from Wheat Ridge, Colorado, majoring in music. She is preparing for music teaching. On the record Linda does the piano accompaniment. Mrs. A. Leroy Taylor, organ instructor at the college, accompanies on the organ.
It is the sincere prayer of the quartet that their songs will be used by God as a source of spiritual blessing to all.
